Nortgoth would like some input on making the young region thrive without invasion of larger and more developed nations.

It's called "Trade"-we've recently come out of a "Dark Age" of our own, and without foreign trade, we would be in much worse condition than we currently are.
Enter the Global market with caution, however. We're discovering how difficult it is to find trading partners due to a problem with our Industrial sector- Inches, Feet, and Miles.
In the decades we were isolated, the world turned Metric on us-even the English and the Americans are Metric now.
It's difficult to sell things when the other fellow looks at you in confusion and asks "How many Kilometers is that?"
