Wanting to purchase 2 new modified Russian jet liners + help

Aztec National League

The United Socialist States of the Aztec National League would like to purchase 2 Russian jet liners that are modified to serve as preisdential and diplomatic transports and command units (an RL example would be like Air Force 1.)

Also, the ANL Air Core is entirely made of MiG 21's. What is the most current model and is there anyway the military can upgrade the crafts to those specifications.

Thank you very much for your time.

-Dr. Daruis Wellington
Foreign Affairs Minister

I was asking to if I could buy the planes, I don't have them as of yet.

Kilean would be glad to sell you some of the ex-areoflot(sp?) airliners we got as part of our arms deal with the Ukraine.

The Kilean Air Force operates MiG-29K jets- the most recent version. Although the MiG-29K was designed for carrier operations, Kilean has found that its more advanced electronics (more advanced than earlier MiG-29's, at least) make it an exceptional front-line fighter.

I don't think that the MiG-21 has a hope of being upgraded to the MiG-29 standards. However, Kilean has much experience taking 2nd-rate soviet equipment and upgrading it to more modern standards (the kilean StG-74, T-72 aust.K, among others).

Kilean would be happy to upgrade your MiG-21's with more modern electronics from the Allied States of Etronia, as well as adapt their weapons systems so they could carry a more diversified weapons load. The MiG-21, although ridiculed by many, is still a fine airframe for point-defence and dogfighting.

If you are in the market for cheap aircraft, Kilean also produces a prop-driven, very rugged ground attack/antitank aircraft.

Upgrading the MiGs are an acceptable plan. As of now, I can only choose to upgrade my current arsenal. (my nation is still suffering from the gobal recesion that occured a while back.) But when the ANL's economy bounces back, I'll be sure to have you as an contact if I need weapons.

There is also a newer (circa 1984) chinese-made MiG-21 upgrade known as the J-7FS.

Do you know what the price of this upgrade is? If it is reasonable and I can afford it, all the planes will be upgraded.

I am still waiting for offers for the 2 jet liners.

It's Aeroflot, and they use Airbus jetliners.

<OOC: the forums ate my post- those assholes! It was very long and detailed, but here is the summary>

The MiG-21K is a cost-effective, cheap upgrade to the MiG-21. It adds a reinforced 5th centreline pylon capable of carrying bombs or a large drop tank that significantly increases the MiG-21's short range.

The other pylons have been modified to accept all western-boc weapons, including the sidewinder and sparrow AAM's. The cannon has also been upgraded to the more effective Kilean-made FK-30 30mm cannon.

The fire control and navigation systems have been overhauled from being 1950's soviet relics to being roughly equivalent to most western export fighters (BAe Hawk, F-5, etc). The radar is much longer-ranged and more capable, and crude infared capabilities have been added. The cockpit has been modified to allow pilots to use nightvision goggles. Most of these electronics are made in the Allied Sates of Etronia, and the fact that they use many commerical components lowers their costs dramatically.

A mid-air refueling boom has also been added, giving some ability to extend the dismal range of the MiG-21.

The MiG-21K is precision guided munition compatible, although no provisions have been made for target designation.

To summarize: the MiG-21K is a fighter that has far better long-range engagement capabilities, has many more payload options, and (potentially)has a much longer operating range than the stock MiG-21.

The upgrade of a MiG-21 to a MiG-21K costs roughly $1 million per plane, although this could fluctuate significantly depending on the number of aircraft updated.

<OOC- thanks, Haaregrad- I actually had no idea about the state of MiG-21 electronics. My intent was to upgrade the electronics to up-to-date, but not top-of-the-line standards. Also- that looks like one hell of a plausible jet. I'm really glad to see people doing really realistic military stuff in the forums...>

After revised study by the Kilean Defence Research Agency, the electronics package for the MiG-21K has been upgraded to roughly the same level as export versions of early-model F-16's.

That seems's reasonable enough Kilean. The government will contract you to upgrade half of the fleet (100 planes.) This will fit well with our tight budget too, so as soon as you give the word, I will wire the $100.000.000 (give or take some-or a lot.)

The remainder of the fleet will remain MiG 21s, however, we will be working on our own varient too.

The National Air Force of The Republic of Tucurania is looking to purchase a single MiG 25 Foxbat aircraft. Any sellers around ?

$95 million should be enough for 100 unit upgrades. Due to a favorable trade treaty, Kilean has access to Etronia-built electronics (the largest part of the modifications) at rock-bottom prices.

Kilean Waffenwerke looks forward to any other potential contracts with the Aztec National League.

Haaregrad:

Would it be possible to purchase the F-33 Super Fulcrum?

The Kilean Air Force would be interested in a wing (32) of the aircraft to supplement the MiG-29's currently in service with the KAF.

We are also very interested in purchasing production rights to the more advanced TF404-220-V engine. Failing that, we would wish to buy a large stock of the engines to refit our existing MiG-29's.

I look forward to more buisness with you too. I noticed that you are an "People's Republic", we are not that different than you. We can either ship our planes over or you may send engineers and workers over here, either way is good. As an token of goodwill, I will have some of our finest chocolate shiped to you nation's leaders.

May peace and prosperity be on your nation and your people!
-High Chief Quetzalcoatl, leader of the USSANL.

Maybe we will be able to retire the P-51's we've been using.

(EDIT: My economy has been upgraded from "developing" to "fair". Soon, I will have it back at "good", yay! Oh yeah, we're still looking for the two jet liners.)

I now ask nicely.

Could we, possibly, present you later on today (RL) with our own upgraded MiG-21. We would do all the things to it our current aircraft have, design and enlargen the engines, strengthen the airframe etc.

We would also fill it with all the systems detailed on the F-42 here:

http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=99604&highlight=

This could turn out to be the most modern MiG-21 ever made.

the KAF will send pilots and technicians to move the planes to the nearest port. There, they will be shipped to the Kilean Waffenwerke plant in Ironforge.

We would also gladly sell you the modified Ilyushin Il-76's that we received from the Ukraine following our purchase of a large number of aircraft. These aircraft are rugged, yet fully appointed for VIP usage.

Aztec National League: for your own home grown upgrade there are a fairly large number of MiG-21 upgrades competeing with each other in RL.

Notable ones being Mig-21 LanceR (romania with help from isreal), F-7PG (pakistans new upgrade on the chinese license version) and MiG-21UD (romanian upgrade for croatia).
Isrealli upgrades (by IAI and Elbit) could be worth looking at.

While we will stick with the Kilean order, I am interested in your upgrade also. Since my economy is doing much better now, maybe we can charter your nation too. However, is your offer just an upgrade or would I have to buy the whole craft? If it is just an upgrade to existing aircrafts, then I could contract you to do 50-75 of the planes, depending on price.

To Kilean:
The nearest port to use would be the Uxmal Air and Sea port. All the 100 planes wil be there. I will wire the money now. The Ilyushin Il-76's sound good to me, please t-gram me for more info (or just reply to this post)

To Crookfur:
Thank you for the info. I will look into it as soon as possible. Once the military agree's on it's design, then we will refit an existing plane as an prototype.
