Chronicles of Sancto - Part One: The Foundation of a Nation

Five million Christian refugees from a distant, wartorn nation crossed the rough sea in tattered vessels. Months later, the wartorn fleet hit the coast of a strange, uninhabited, land.

The new nation established many key fundamental rules. The newly elected government made the nation pacifistic because war was what caused the refugee situation in the first place. They made the country a Christian Republic, but set up many laws to prevent persecution of non-Christians. The leaders made laws to keep the power of the Prime Minister in check so that he could never have to much power.

The nation also decided to build a cathederal in the newly founded capital city of Sancto City to keep religion high in the nation. Prime Minister Michael Robertson I asked for money for this new project and was kindly given some. The construction will start soon. Hopefully, the cathederal construction would spark the building of churches of all denominations in the nation and put Sancto through an era of spiritul and economic wellfare.

The Holy Republic of Sancto has founded a region and alliance. What will happen next for Sancto? Its history will be recorded in this thread. Feel free to comment.

Key Govermental Leaders

Prime Minister (Michael Robertson I) - The Prime Minister is the highest rank in the government, but it is not absolute power due to a series of laws. The elections are every eight NationStates years [OOC: Tell me how long that is in normal time.]. There are four major political parties and each election has five canidates (one from each party and one independant) running.

Minister of Foreign Affairs (Marc Smith) - This position is one of the highest in the government. This person deals with relations with other nations. All lesser Ministers also have elections at the same time as the Prime Minister elections.

Minister of Religion (Paul Brown) - This position has great influence in the Holy Republic of Sancto. The Minister of Religion deals with all major affairs involving Christianity in the nation and acts as an advisor to the Prime Minister.

Minister of Economic Welfare (Gregory Harrison) - This minister is in charge of the economy of Sancto as well as all external trade deals.

Minister of Local Affairs (Katie Carson) - This is the lowst minister position. This minister deals with some local affairs and advises the Prime Minister.

Senators - Senators are the representative body and vote on many key issues and can remove any minister from power. They are elected every five NationStates years.

Dear Nations,

Due to recent threats against openly religious nations, we have decided to increase security. No one may enter our nation without a visa, and in order to get a visa, the country of origion and all criminal records will be checked heavilly first.

I may also state that no one is forced to be Christian in this nation, it is just that it has a majority of Christians. We also do not favor any denomination. We are also pacifistic, meaning that any threat against us would cause an international incident because we have no defence other than a small police force used to arrest criminals and stop illegal imigrants.

We also request that no one attack us because we are called a holy republic, because our name is Latin for holy, because we are gathering materials to build a cathederal, and because we have a minister of religion. We don't want any violence with others, no matter their race, culture, religion, or nation.

Our main goal is world peace!

P.S. Don't use the phrase "pagan". My nation is religious tolerent and doesn't force anyone to do anything. We are just majority Christians because we were founded by wartorn Christian refugees.

EDIT: Don't make assumptions on my government unless you actually read the history. Also don't do stupid replies unless you read all of the message. I mention religous tolerence and world peace a lot.

If Geforce will protect Sancto, DT and possibly the rest of the TGB alliance will follow suit.
