Military Education System

04-11-2003, 14:10
Freedom Country, sensing it has a small and not very knowledgeable army, and not many skilled reserves has decided to adopt a new education system. It will start in Primary 4 (5th Grade for those who live in America...I think) and go through till when they leave High School.

The new system will involve:

------SCHOOLS--------

- Primary 4 - 2 to 3 Months Project based on the basic military. In basic form covers past use of the military, some facts and Freedom Countries military. Not very detailed, but letting you know it is there. Looks at the different aspects of the military, and how it functions. Every day 10 minutes will be spent looking over the military.

- Primary 5 - 2 to 3 months Project based on the 'war' on Terepa, and the use of navies in the modern world. Covers the circumstances involved in the decleration of war, the propoganda used and the forces invlved. In depth look at Freedom Countries naviess, and how they operate and what they use. 15 mins a day.

- Primary 6 - 3 to 4 months Project based on the war on Jaceria, and the use of air power in modern world. Looks at the tactics employed by both sides, and what made it happen. Also, looks in depth at Freedom Countries Air Force, and how it operates and uses. 20 mins a day.

- Primary 7 - 3 to 4 months Project on diplomacy. The uses of doiplomacy are talked about, and how it works. Also looks at how it was used in the past. Also, an in depth look at the Army is taken, and how Freedom Countries army is put together. 30 mins a day.

- High School - (12 years old +) - In years 1 to 3 of high school, a special subject called Military (or Mil) is taken. Consisting of 4 periods a week (35 mins a period), every subject of the military is taught, from the different aspects to past conflicts. Tests will be taken every 3 months. Also, in PE (Physical Education), in the winter months drill is taught. For 3 weeks at twice a week (PE in FC is twice a week. Fitness and all  ) drill is taught. Normal clothing is worn.

- High School - Years 4 to 6 - Military is optionally taken, where everything is looked at in depth. If taken, PE comes with it - ie, drill in Military. Upon leaving High School, a final large parade is taken, where everone must wear school colors. For 1 month proir, everyone in 6th year must take drill. No sciving allowed.

- After school - Immediately after leaving school, all pupils are sent to Military schools for 3 months. Here, they will take Military lessons, be issued Combat Fatigues, and be given basic training in firing the FC-57, USP pistol and throwing Grenades. Tank driving and flight opportunities will be given to those who wish to. At the end, all pupils will be asked if:

A) They wish to have a future in the Military
B) Wish to join the Reserves
C) Wish to help with the Military schools or at schools.

If any of these are answered as a yes, they will be given priority recruitement, or if they answered yes to C they will be given top priority after the return from College/University.

-------AFTER SCHOOLS------

After school Military Activities will be possible from the age 13+. At this age, the Air Cadets, Naval Cadets or Army Cadets will be open for youngsters to join. Each is government funded, and contains special opportunities in each, to sample the Military.

Any other announcments will be made later.

Please donot wine, moan or otherwise aggrivate me in any way

Thankyou.

Sounds like "compulsory military training" in my country... for 6 months, all citizens, including women, must be trained in military activities...

Well I take a step down from that (dont want to traumatise 'em, and this gives them other skills other than crawling through mud at 4 in the morning :) ).

Also, when they are straight out of school they tend to troublemake - best to mature em first.

Personally a highly funded and pushed cadet system would probaably work far better than pushing military type stuff in schools. it would also help if you can get other vaguely military organisations on your side (like the BB).

Actually soemthing similar to the BB but with slightly more of a military angle might be the ideal choice, it teachs disapline, offer a lot more scope for PE. You shouldn't really mix up drill and PE, PE should be more about gynastics and team games.

While your plan may result in a much larger froce youa re goign to ahve problems with issues like rote learning and people not comming to problems fresh.

Of course you missed the most important part of trnaing good officers: a good udnerstnading of all military history (and non mil history).

persoanlly i think youa re barking up the wrong tree here, offer good benefits for life in the military and biulding a high level of national identity would like work better.

Hey, hey. Answers.

Well, not everyone attends the Cadets. Not everyone must, either. A lot of people just think that military is tanks and guns fired fromt the hip. Wel its not. I want to teach that to all, and make sure everyone knows there is a military, a hardened one.

We like to put in in PE in the winter because:

A) Its winter, not a lot to do.

B) Everyone is excited for christmas. Discipline them.

C) Discipline isnt enforced enough in other parts of the school.

D) The BB is army - the AF and Navy are important too.

E) Are you suggesting that the ATC and Navy Cadets arent 'military related'!!

And that is what military subject is about!!

Of course, we would still have the normal subjects. History WOULD be taught at the same time. National pride would be placed across in Drill and military, and how FC has done in the past. And how else do you expect to get Officers, apart from the BB, ATC and NC??? Not in school, anyway.

Making 12-year olds sit through military classes sounds like a major pain in the backside.

Methinks you should wait until the 16-year old level and at that point anyone who wants to can take in-depth military classes in school.

Credonai is willing to give you aircraft (as many as needed) as well as some of the ICBM's we are producing if you move to our reguion. We can get them to you for free seeing that you are an ally in good standing with us. How does that sound? (im me if you want to move to the region as there is a password for it. The name of the region is 'The Credonian Arms Federation'

In Raysia, we use a good number of UCAVs for homeland defense. And since the Boy Scout program is a government-sponsered program in Raysia, Eagle Scouts are eligible for UCAV training. Once in High School, Eagle Scouts (Females can be Eagle scouts as well) may have part-time jobs at the RDF UCAV centers, flying patrols and learning combat procedure. They also learn full combat training. So basically, if you make it to Eagle Scout, you're pretty much guaranteed to make it into the Raysian Expeditionary Force eventually. The REF is a force of all-purpose soldiers, who can fight in Air, Ground, Structure, or Water.

As an antithesis, Slacker students are often recruited into the cannon-fodder group, I mean the Raysian Ground Forces ;) nah, everyone is given a fair chance, there is always a place for everyone.

We are by no means compulsory though, we only have a 0.25% active military.

Ram - Did you read any of it???

It's only for about half an hour every day. And that time is spend talking and then discussing. Hell, even class hippies can voice their opinions.

Credonia - Sorry man, like my region. Plus, I would need training aircraft, tank simulators and jachts :)

Raysia - Nice idea. Though we dont use UCAV's (bit like playing a PC game, but they are annoying). And hey, everyone must start somehwere. And also, girls also MUST take what is given to the boys. Even Drill :D

God, to see Natasha doing drill

Yes, I read it

Point stands.
04-11-2003, 19:42
Still, I did a couple of hours cooking a painting when I was 12. And History.

Still, military is important.

It will mostly be friendly discussion ('class time') and a talk together. The teacher will help all understand etc. Its designed to be a casual way of learning, not traumatising.
