Green fuels

There is already a green fuel available. Biodiesel.

Use of this renewable, cheap, environmentally friendly fuel should be encouraged by member states.

(At the very least, there will be no arguments that wars are fought over oil.)

Please support this proposal, if not please do post here to tell me why.

Hydrogen fuel is also available, but only in limited quantities as yet. Just wait a couple of years for the bacteriological catalyst to be developed in sufficient amounts, if the oil companies don't manage to shut it down.

I would vote for it if it became a resolution, but a lot of pepole are more concerned with words and the presentation of things than i am. You should read the United Nations Resolution Writing Guide and than redo your proposel :)

There are many fast-growing plants which provide a good source of methanol.

We run about shouting "Kudzu!", but the people just reply "gesundheit".

I thought that using plain English would be best really.

Wow. Here I am, wandering around the forums after a not-so-brief hiatus, and people are mentioning my resolution writing guide. I feel so popular, like I should have a star in the UN Walk of Fame. Hey, thats not a half bad idea. Another project to add to my list.

Erm, anyway. Yes. Give us a draft proposal to work with and we'll be sure to help you out. Personally, I favor the idea of encouraging biodiesel development, so our nation would be behind you.

Sincerely yours,

I am to resubmit it to the UN.

I'm all for it; anything done to help our environment is great. Maybe for the proposal, allow nations to ease into it by thinking of a target (signatory countries should have #% of vehicles fueled by biodiesel by (target date)).

everyone needs to post a copy of the resolution.
I don't know if they're supposed to magically show up, but they don't.
If everyone could do that in the future, it would rock like a goose.
