Long word bug

When I try to post the following message in our civil headquarters:

Does anything about my nation suggest I speak Russian? No. So why does someone reply to my recruitment telegramme in Russian:

Атбезкистан благодарит не Вам предложение.

*sigh*

(Fortunately the Babelfish online translator does know Russian.)

I get the error message 'To prevent format-breaking spam, you cannot post a message conta ining [sic] an extremely long word. Please insert a space or two into your long word and try again.'

I presume this is some bug with Unicode handling, but I've seen other people post cyrillic and greek characters without problems.

It could have to do with your browser. I can't post unicode characters either for that reason; I've tried other browsers like Mozilla and it works there, but not on my computer no matter what I install. I think Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Linus Torvalds have a vendetta against me. :(

Russian stuff as seen in View Source (extra character added to prevent parsing)
&.#1040;&.#1090;&.#1073;&.#1077;&.#1079;&.#1082;&.#1080;&.#1089;&.#1090;&.#1072;&.#1085; &.#1073;&.#1083;&.#1072;&.#1075;&.#1086;&.#1076;&.#1072;&.#1088;&.#1080;&.#1090; &.#1085;&.#1077; &.#1042;&.#1072;&.#1084; &.#1087;&.#1088;&.#1077;&.#1076;&.#1083;&.#1086;&.#1078;&.#1077;&.#1085;&.#1080;&.#1077;.
For some reason, sometimes the pasted information is pasted as a Unicode character, but other times it gets translated into HTML (utf-8?) numerical equivalents. Since each code uses 7 characters including the semi-colon, the longest you can post is about 6 or 7 characters.

Long words widen pages on most older and some newer browsers, which is most likely the reason that the message is there. Those words aren't long enough though, but what frisbeeteria posted above may explain why that happened.

Given that the requestor is a developer with some pretty dandy NS scripts in place on his website, and given that the reply was given by a Game Moderator who has significant official experience on THIS website, your affirmation of why it doesn't work and how I may be correct isn't all that useful in this context, A_B. Thanks anyway.
