Fellow nations! Do not be alarmed at the rising of the airships from your fair shores and fields, we simply set out on our own. A nation among the clouds forever free from the tethers of the ground. We declare the independance of our nation. 800 zepplins rising from the ground to become a conglomerations of fiefdoms that is The united socialist states of cloudships.
population: 96000
location: The expansive skies
government: local democracies(each zepplin has its own locally managed government meating in an elected council for national desisions
Military: completely passive air based
Economy: pure socialist(again localy managed)
GDP: 30000 Nr ($24,000 US)
Major exports: Purified high atmosphere gases (for industrial applications)
Major import: foodstuffs
Technological developement: slightly modern
The united socialist states of cloudships are a conglomeration of air ships that started taken off from an underground internet movement. They have declared their independance as a nation and wish to simply start a migratory socialist nation. They move from county to county, those that will allow them, to occationally refule and resupply. They are beggining to be more and more self sufficient as their recycling and food growing sectors expand.
The nation is controlled as if each zepplin is its own city-state though each one has a deligate for a congress that makes national decisions. Each city-state has an elected high council that controls most state decisions and each airships policies can vary widely though they mostly agree on socialist and environmental political alignments.
The people travel via small balloon and plane. The people are completely peaceful and will try to keep away any conflict though that if attacked they will defend themselves. They can easily convert to wartime production and essentially turn into their own armada. The ships are well enough armed and armored to repel most air attacks. The way the zepplins are designed they won't be "sunk" unless losing more than 50% of their boyancy because of cellular design. They have no ground forces.
They are a highly technical/industrial society that are trying to advance in ways to remain in the air indefinately. Until that time they try to keep some diplomatic relations with like minded countries. They are recieving delegates that they can show how their progressive ways of life benifit them as a society. Though they have very few immigrants outside of the occational newly raised zepplin who wishes to join the state.
