After a period of turmoil, the Empire of Draconic States has refounded itself as a Democracy. Several states have been consolidated and others eliminated from the Empire for a failure to comply with the new Democractic processes. After the most recent Elections, Maelstrom Vortex was appointed the new President of the Empire. Jhesiara Rhah of Solae and Rylisa of Crystal Dragons are now Vice Presidents, with full acting powers of the President when he is ill or not active in office.
The Empire now has 5 legitimate states with roughly a 4.5 Billion people. A more thorough and up to date census will be forthcoming. The military might of the Empire is amazingly still close to the strength that it held when it was 7 billion strong, but has been reduced in number significantly. This is mostly due to the heavy funding of military technology and defense spending keeping troops equipment and vehicles up to date with cutting edge science.
